Research Fellow, Center for Health Policy, Planning and Research
Assists the Center with Health Planning and Assessment tools development testing and works on existing projects, project development, marketing tools and Center publications. Under the ggeneral supervision is received from the Center Executive Director.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Center Research Fellow (CFR) works with the Center Executive Director to review, develop and test health planning and assessment tools currently used or to be used by the Center to assist clients (health systems, governments and associations) in planning, implementing and evaluating health care improvements particularly in chronic care and emergency preparedness. This involves reviewing, compiling, and summarizing both published and non-published literature, developing instruments and protocols, designing and conducting pilot tests of these tools. Additionally this task includes developing proposals to potential clients.
- The CFR works with project teams on one or more existing Center projects at the level of his/her expertise. Project work will provide real life exposure to the CFR in public health and medicine. This work might include maintaining and organizing reports and presentations for ongoing projects, data and analysis tasks, organizing meetings among Center staff/consultants and others involved with projects.
- The CFR assists Center staff in developing and writing proposals for projects for new Center funding, including reviewing, compiling, and summarizing literature for research projects and proposals and formatting, editing, and producing project proposals.
- Facilitates the process of updating content and posting reports and other information to the Center’s web site among other activities.
- Completes new employee orientation and sexual harassment training within 30 days of the date of hire.
- Understands and complies with the University of New England Safety Manual.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Health related field (coursework/training in bio-statistics and evaluation research preferred), or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
· Good communication skills
· PC literate (Word, Excel, PPT, Access, Microsoft Project, email, internet)
