Research Manager - Commercial Real Estate Data

We are currently seeking professional, goal and career-oriented Managers to join our growing research teams in White Marsh and Columbia, MD.  The Research Manager is a key leader within the CoStar Research Organization as our Researchers are the lifeline of our comprehensive industry leading product line. Responsible for supervising and coaching a team of 8-10 research associates working on either portfolio or specialty commercial real estate research, the Research Manager  takes ownership of their team's performance, results, and budget with a constant focus on growing and maintaining the highest quality database.

 Essential functions:

  • Oversight of Data Quantity, Accuracy and Completeness
  • Quality Assurance
  • Brand Awareness
  • Staff Management,  Coaching and Development 
  • Recruiting and Retention

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to associates approximately 80% of time .
  • Actively coach through on the floor training sessions, team meetings, sharing findings from their phone evaluations as well as those from the quality assurance team, and conducting feedback sessions (as necessary) to discuss performance and developmental needs. 
  • Conduct audits daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly to ensure that they data is accurate and complete to include random checks through the internal system and product.  
  • Audit contacts and properties that have been recently updated by a member of their team.  
  • Conduct audits on a regular basis to ensure that statistics for the product and quarterly market reports are correct. 
  • Answer questions from clients and prospects regarding our research methodology and products.  
  • Work closely with their sales group to generate new revenue and retain our existing clients.  
  • Reach out to key contacts within market and establish working relationships that could result in data trades or more efficient ways to collect data. 
  • Develop relationships with key contacts in markets' commercial real estate community 
  • Reporting and Statistical analysis 
  • Build Awareness of the company's products. 
  • Assist with the recruiting function for their center by building a strong referral pipeline.
  • Participate in interview and make hiring decisions . 
  • Work with Center Director to maintain turnover at 35% or less.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a B.A./B.S. degree and proficiency in MS Office required.
  • Candidates need 3-5+ years exceptional supervisory, production, and call monitoring management experience, coupled with strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and information gathering skills.
  • Successful candidates will have comfort and experience in an environment managing individuals who are measured and rewarded in a pay-for performance environment.
  • Call or Service center skills and experiences are very transferable. 
  • Proven track record of production and sustained market growth in the Commercial Real Estate research field or related research/customer centric information industry.
