Position Overview: CoStar Group is currently seeking professional, goal and career oriented Managers to join our growing research team in Washington, DC. The mission of each team is to provide our customers with accurate, comprehensive, and high quality data specific to various geographic markets. Armed with a deep commitment to customer service, a passion for accurate data, and strong supervisory skills, our Research Managers lead and coach teams of 10-15 research associates tasked with capturing the pulse of each market through interviews with brokers and others involved in commercial real estate transactions. The Research Manager delivers outstanding team performance and client service with a constant focus on growing and maintaining the highest quality data. Research Managers fully “own” their markets and customer relationships, and conduct quarterly Advisory Board meetings to present insight and trend analysis to their top clients. Essential Functions: • Provide Customers with an Unparalleled Source of Growing, Comprehensive, and Accurate Data that Increasingly Reflects Market Reality • Coaching and Staff Development to Achieve Maximized Performance • Recruiting and Retention • Building Brand Awareness Responsibilities: • Provide day-to-day coaching and support to teams of Research Associates; Actively coach Research Associates through on-the-floor training sessions, team meetings, phone evaluations, and feedback sessions to discuss performance and developmental needs. • Attract, develop, and retain a team of strong Research Associates. • Participate in interviews and make high-quality hiring decisions. • Work with Center Director to improve retention • Provide outstanding service to clients and prospects regarding our research methodology and products. • Work closely with the sales team to generate new revenue and retain our existing clients. • Deepen awareness of the company's full suite of products to customers, prospects and other players in the commercial real estate industry. • Reach out to key contacts within each market to develop the working relationships necessary to capture data • Conduct regular audits and analyses to ensure that data is accurate and complete. Skills and Qualifications: A successful candidate will possess: • 5+ years of supervisory, performance management and staff development experience; managing at least 8 employees. • A passion for working with and guiding others in their professional growth and development. • Particular experience with improving the productivity of high-volume interviewing and research processes • High level of comfort and experience managing individuals who are measured and rewarded in transparent, pay-for performance environment. • Ability to meet deadlines, keep schedules, and perform to target levels in a fast-paced production environment without compromising quality. • Strong verbal, written, analytical and leadership skills; ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly. • Proven track record of outstanding service to clients, particularly in commercial real estate data or other information-intensive products. • Excellent presentation skills and comfort presenting information and insight to high-profile client groups. • Bachelor Degree required. • Proficiency in MS Office is required, including high proficiency in Excel.
