The Research Publications Associate performs as a core member of the Research Publications Team, sharing workload for all publication responsibilities including daily print and electronic publishing of Investment Group newsletters, as well as review and publication of electronic research reports into Investment Group research database.

Key Areas of Responsibility:


  • Print and electronic publishing of Investment Group newsletters (daily)
  • Review and publication of electronic research reports into database
  • Industry Review CD processing
  • Investment Group Handbooks
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Interacts with:


  • Team members in Research Publications
  • Investment Group analysts and assistants
  • IT associates

Tasks include:


  • Assembly and formatting of master Word documents
  • Monitoring the Submissions database for items to be published
  • Evaluating their appropriateness for inclusion in the publications and database
  • Correcting formatting problems in Lotus Notes
  • Problem solving for analysts and assistants calling with questions
  • Meeting the daily publication deadlines
  • Development and maintenance of content for online Investment Group Handbooks – solicit updates, enter and maintain current content, include providing "context" texts


Qualifications

  • Candidates with experience working in a research library or in knowledge management strongly preferred
  • Very strong Microsoft Word skills, strong Adobe Acrobat, strong Lotus Notes
  • Indexing or tagging experience is a plus
  • Ability to assess own skills and understanding, and to elevate issues appropriately
  • Must be able to develop and use good judgment when faced with questionable material, unusual submission formats or content, or demanding or unavailable clients
  • Ability to work to a daily deadline in a production capacity and must be able to work fast and efficiently
  • Ability to follow directions and ask for clarification
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and requests
  • A team player who will communicate and work with others effectively
  • Very strong attention to detail
  • Strong service orientation
  • Calm and patient under pressure; methodical and productive
  • Handles repetitive tasks with accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible; comfortable with change
