Currently, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has an opening for a Research Technologist (Job Number 18305).

The Research Technologist position in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department assists the principal investigator with the collection and analysis of data for specified research projects in an entry-level capacity. Properly conducts specific, but limited, projects and maintains efficient laboratory operations. The focus of the laboratory is to improve the outcome of children with leukemia by identifying factors affecting inter-individual differences in anticancer drug pharmacodynamics in children. Projects relate to identifying factors affecting anticancer drug pharmacodynamics in children with leukemia, which will include basic molecular biological techniques with patient samples and some in-vivo experiments, use of computing tools for data storage and retrieval, and may involve chemical analysis, enzymatic assays, and/or cell culture. This position is an integral part of the translational research team and requires precise collaborative efforts. Perform other duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department.

Additional responsibilities include meticulous attention to detail, using computing technology for data retrieval, and vigilant maintenance of patient materials and confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate scientific field is required.


Preferred skills:

  • Experience in biology, biochemistry, chemical analysis, or cell culture experiments is preferred.
