Under general supervision, The Resident Engineer / PM III, is responsible through subordinate construction personnel, for overall management direction of several construction projects.  Evaluates specifications to plan procedures, starting and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.  Directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays. Manages supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.  Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.  Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.  Conducts construction activities within federal, state and local environmental rules and regulations. Will assist with revenue flow and growth within the company's transit construction management industry.  Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • 4 Year degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum 15 years of related CM experience with vertical and Class 1 railroad/commuter rail projects, preferably experience with AMTRAK in Seattle or Seattle Sound Transit.
  • State of Washington P.E., or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel and Primavera Scheduling Software

 

Preferences:

  • Washington P.E.
  • Experience  with Amtrak or Seattle Sound Transit
  • Design/Build Experience
