Weekend Respite Teacher

The Brookwood Community, located in Brookshire, Texas is a private, non-profit residential community for adults with disabilities.  We are looking for someone who wants to work as a weekend Respite Teacher for adults with disabilities. 

The position is responsible for activities and citizen care under your supervision from Friday evening through Sunday evening.  The Weekend Respite Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, secure, and caring environment for our citizens; in conjunction with other staff.  The Weekend Respite Teacher oversees direct care staff, participates in the daily living activities, social and vocational needs of our citizens.  The Weekend Respite assists our citizens with activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, home maintenance, socialization, skill development and medical treatment regimens. 

This is a salaried position.  The hours are from approximately 3pm Friday through approximately 6pm on Sunday - every weekend.  We DO offer holidays and paid leave time.  

Qualifications include 5 or more years of experience working with special needs population; a degree in psychology, special education, or related field is an added plus.
