The Spa Manager is a motivated, entrepreneurial individual with salon, spa, or health & fitness center management experience who is the key orchestrator of all functions of operating a Day Spa. This position offers support, guidance, motivation, system oversight, protocol adherence and communications to all departments.
The Spa Manager will implement proven systems and methods in the areas of marketing, finance, human resource management, merchandising and quality assurance. The Spa Manager must have strong leadership skills, detail orientation and ability to multi-task and manage a large employee base. Customer service orientation is essential as is the ability to effectively communicate with senior management team on a regular basis. A natural orientation to personal wellness a must!
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Salon or Spa Management experience required
- Bachelor's degree in business management or related field.
- Two years in team based management.
- Excellent communications and finance skills.
- Ability to multi task and manage stressful situations.
- A working knowledge of windows based programs (Excel, Microsoft Word, Internet and Email).
Responsibilities:
- Oversees all operations of the spa.
- Develops and maintains a clear organizational plan for growth including goals and creative strategies.
- Reviews all team members including support staff and service providers through performance evaluations setting strategies for productivity and implementing incentive programs.
- Adheres to monthly purchasing budgets for all departments and implements systems for budgetary control.
- Collects and submits all computer generated reports, compiles salon/spa and therapist performance ratios, and reviews daily close outs securing bank deposits.
- Prepares and reviews performance ratios with Regional Manager.
- Manages inventory and service staff levels to reflect seasonality.
- Schedules support staff and retail sales people to reflect daily volume while maintaining targeted profitability goals.
- Instrumental in launching new products and services and leads the initiative in training appropriate staff.
- Ensures that retail floor is well merchandised and that inventory levels are in line with budget.
- Communicates directly with Regional Manager and M.D.O. all human resource issues, staff file maintenance, workers' compensation and group health insurance issues.
- Implements customer/client relations programs: customer appreciation program management, new client program recognition, customer incident reports, follow-ups and customer requests.
- Coordinates facility and equipment maintenance.
- All other duties as deemed appropriate by Regional Manager, M.D.O. and/or C.E.O.
