Retail Market Manager - Northern VA, MD area

Multi-unit retail management position, providing support and direction to the General Managers and the store organization to increase sales and maximize profit. Ensure that all company goals are achieved through consistent execution of company endorsed programs in the areas of merchandising, marketing, operations, human resources and expense management. This role is primarily a developmental step for those managers deemed to be capable to fulfill the District Manager job. The role will provide for this manager a global and multi-unit view of the job.

Primary Responsibilities (under the supervision of the RVP and DM):

Assume responsibility for the P&L in the market.
Drive sales and service achievement.
Ensure that company goals for sales, payroll, profit, customer service, inventory, shrinkage and expense are attained through the consistent execution of operating plans.
Ensure all merchandising and marketing plans and programs are executed properly.
Support and supervise General Managers.

Secondary Responsibilities (under the supervision of the RVP and DM):

Identify performance improvement opportunities quickly; set clear performance expectations; coach GMs to develop and execute improvement plans.
Manage security/safety and loss prevention by ensuring effective execution of procedures, including inventory, audits, bad checks, credit card fraud, and cash management.
Ensure open communication of issues, plans, and responsibilities between store personnel, field management, distribution centers and Home Office to facilitate effective execution of all plans and procedures.
Provide feedback on all in-stock issues, new product opportunities, underperformers and pricing opportunities to RVP and DM.

 

The most qualified candidates for this position have the following skills and experience:

Able to relocate within one year- possible relocation area is East Coast from Southern NJ to Florida.

A minimum of 6 - 10 years progressively responsible management and multi-unit experience in a high volume retail environment. 
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills. 

Ability to drive sales in a customer service focused environment. 
Bachelors degree preferred.
