The Store Manager will manage a full staff of store personnel and oversee all in-store operations, achieve sales, service, organization, customer satisfaction, and profitability goals for the store in compliance with company procedures. The Store Manager will lead by example and build a team-oriented environment.
Leadership, Personnel Development and Team Building
· Act as an advocate for all store employees
· Motivates his/her team members to meet and exceed store goals
· Confronts challenges in professional and timely manner
· Maintains professionalism when faced with tough situations
· Resolves conflicts with team members in a productive manner
· Stays informed on market trends and communicates to store team members
· Act as liaison between store and corporate
· Assist in the recruiting, hiring, and developing a diverse and talented team
· Process all store payroll and payroll compliance
· Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
· Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures
Sales and Customer Service
· Meet all sales plans and aim to exceed
· Create a high energy, sales and service focused environment
· Accountable for all sales activities.
· Ensures all customers are being serviced with Pet Supermarket’s high quality customer standards
· Identifies opportunities that exist to improve customer service and communicates to sales team
Miscellaneous Managerial Responsibilities
· Guide and assist store personnel in performing all job duties to ensure store remains clean and safe.
· Ensure that floors and displays are well organized.
· Collaborate with district manager to ensure that merchandising and display decisions are made timely without disrupting customer service.
· Accountable for maintaining and controlling expenses by following company guidelines.
· Keep current on ordering store and special supplies.
· Responsible for knowing all cash register, credit card, and gift card functions.
· Accountable for opening, closing and balancing registers.
· Responsible and accountable for bank drops, filing deposit slips accordingly, and bank log.
· Stay apprised to all merchandise return policies and procedures.
· Attend all training workshops
Management Hours
· Store Managers must work at least 50 scheduled hours per week.
· Management will work a 3 week rotating schedule including two (2) night shifts per week, one Saturday, one complete weekend (Saturday and Sunday), and one weekend off.
Requirements
· Associates Degree preferred or 3-5 years retail management experience
· Strong working knowledge of retail operations and merchandising
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Proven leadership skills to train, lead, and motivate store associates
· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
