Store Manager - Watertown location


 


Summary: Manages retail store operations engaged in selling specific, related, or general lines of merchandise by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  (Other duties may be assigned)



  • Supervises employees engaged in sales work, POS system ringing of sales and merchandise returns, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, or preparing daily record of transactions, or performs work of subordinates, as needed.



  • Answers customer's complaints or inquiries and provides general customer assistance/service.
  • Plans and prepares work schedules and assigns employees to specific duties.

  • Coordinates sales promotion activities and prepares, or directs workers to prepare, merchandise displays according to Company directives.


  • Ensures compliance of employees with established security and loss prevention procedures.

  • Ensure compliance of employees with personal sales, IPC (items per customer), and average sales goals. Provides training to maximize store sales and selling techniques.


  • Locks and secures store
  • Operates a Work 'n Gear retail store in an entrepreneurial manner.

             - Sets up information booths in the community


             - Distributes discount coupons to businesses in the area




  • Pursues projects that will generate margin, not simply revenue.

             - Identifies appropriate B2B opportunities


             - Accessorizes appropriately


             - Upsells when possible



  • Creates Work 'n Gear Brand awareness in the market's business and work community.

             - Creates appropriate Window displays


             - Displays appropriate signage


             - Canvasses local business

Qualifications


Three to five years retail experience


Associates Degree preferred


Excellent customer service skills


Very good oral communication skills


Ability to work with a team as well as direct a team


Excellent leadership abilities
