Retail Training Specialist

General Summary:


 
Responsible for developing and implementing a variety of corporate learning programs and organizational effectiveness programs/processes, including technical and soft skills, business theory and process, and train the trainer course content.  Provides learning and performance analysis for corporate areas of business as requested/required.
 
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
 
  1. Function as a learning consultant with internal business clients and cross-functional teams on new and ongoing initiatives, including the identification of performance issues and the selection and development of appropriate solutions.

  2. Lead or support the development of course content to support client needs

  3. Manage projects and client groups through the use of project management methodology and tools.

  4. Complete various Corporate Learning and Development projects as assigned, including (but not limited to) facilitation and delivery of technical,  business process, soft skills and performance management courses.

  5. Provide on-the-job training support to client groups as needed.

  6. Provide "train the trainer" instruction as needed.

  7. Build or revise computer-based training courses using Captivate, Flash, Lectora and other courseware programs.

  8. Integrate AICC and SCORM-compliant training content with Learning Management System.

  9. Other duties as assigned.

 


Minimum Requirements:
 
Education:  Bachelors degree in Instructional Design/Instructional Technology required; Masters degree or Graduate Certificate a plus.
 
Experience:  A minimum of two years experience designing/developing instructor-led, web-based and blended learning solutions in a retail environment.  Minimum of two years experience in retail merchandising (planning, buying, or supply chain.)  Experience with Merchandising and Supply Chain system and business-process implementation a plus. Experience developing e-learning content using Captivate, Flash, Lectora or comparable software required. Working knowledge of Plateau or other learning management systems a plus.
 
Project Management and Client Relationship Skills:  Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and to remain flexible while juggling simultaneous projects.  Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to quickly build and maintain positive working relationships with internal clients, peers and outside vendors.  Project management lifecycle experience required.  Must be able to meet deadlines and complete projects on time.
