The Local Retention Specialist has two primary responsibilities:
1) Customer Service – This position provides a physical presence for face-to-face member service and support by performing the same duties as an ACT team members from within the community. This person spends the bulk of their time trouble shooting walk-in member issues, escalating complex member issues to R&R, onboarding new members in their communities, and managing the front end of our retail space (where applicable).
2) Community Event Member Education - The Local Retention Specialist will also facilitate health awareness education sessions and perform scheduled “in-service” hours at key provider partner practices and facilities. This person will host and administer classes on a range of health topics including diabetes and asthma management and will have a role in helping to steer members to high quality provider partners.
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS
EDUCATION
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
CERTIFICATE, LICENSURE
· Life and Health Insurance license must be obtained and maintained.
EXPERIENCE
· 3-5 years of customer service experience in Insurance, or advocacy work in a related service field
· Personal experience and comfort interacting with the senior population
· Fluency in culture, language and geography of the community
· Ability to travel within the designated region

· MS Office Suite

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
· Excellent relationship building/interpersonal skills.
· Solid oral, written and presentation communication skills.
