
Talascend has a direct hire position for a Financial Systems Manager for a Healthcare client in Rocky Mount, North Carolina
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Systems Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, organizing, operation, maintenance and processes of the organizations financial systems.
The Financial Systems Manager directly manages Financial Analysts, Senior Financial Analysts, Lawson System Administrator, Oracle/SQL DBA, programmers and personnel engaged in the installation, development, support and testing of any custom applications within the health care system The manager must be knowledgeable of all hospital systems and how they relate to each other.
Familiarity with healthcare and hospital operations is very important.
Strong communications and project management skills are required.
The Financial Systems Manager will supervise and coordinate the implementation, ongoing maintenance and support, including subsystems and related interfaces, of all of the applications and programs supported in the Financial Systems department.
The following applications are supported by the IS Financial Systems Department.: General Accounting (GL, AP, Materials Management, Mobile Supply Chain, Process Flow, Procurement, Fixed Assts, PR, HR, Occ. Health), Lawson Point of Use, Time and Attendance (Time Keeper and Scheduling), Patient Accounting, Registration, Scheduling, the Database Engine (eLink) and the associated Interfaces with foreign systems, Programming, Intranet, Physician’s Office software and both Siemens and Cerner Imaging.
The manager will ensure consistent practices are used with the development and support of custom applications including the IS internal problem tracking system and the company Intranet.
This position works very closely with the Clinical Systems manager to ensure adequate processes are in place for patient charges.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS AND TRAINING:
Required:
Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or in a systems support field such as mathematics, computer science or industrial
engineering. Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software and in database validation. Ability to read, understand, and follow
manuals and procedures written in technical language.
Broad conceptual and detailed technical knowledge of both general accounting, REVENUE CYCLE and patient accounting systems and other administrative systems as related to
Hospital functions.
Preferred:
Master’s Degree with stated knowledge/proficiencies.
Previous experience with Hospital Financial billing and Registration.
EXPERIENCE:
4+ years of job related experience in a multi-system healthcare environment involving management responsibilities within the IS Department or financial
area (Payroll, Human Resources, Accounting, Patient Accounting and Registration) a plus.
ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Demonstrate strong organization skills to direct departmental employees and to guide complex multidepartmental project participants. Needs to be familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts and practices related to basic accounting principles, patient registration and regulatory processes for patient billing. Problem solving skills with the ability to find creative solutions is helpful.
