Position Title: Hotel Revenue Manager Reports To: Hotel Director & work closely with Controller & LEGOLAND Sales Mgr. Department: LEGOLAND California Resort Hotel (LLCR) Position Summary: The Revenue Manager is responsible for providing direction to the property team in order to maximize REVPAR and TREVPAR Index through the management of room inventories, market mix and pricing strategies. In addition, the Hotel Revenue Manager works with the hotel team to ensure that they focus on total Revenue Management, which includes special events, attractions, parking, space utilization, food, beverage, retail and other revenues, in support of LLCR’s financial goals by developing the hotel’s pricing and market mix strategy to ensure LLCR maximizing sales. Also works closely with trade sales team on pricing and client mix. Scope and Responsibilities: · Monitoring and understanding the pricing of competitors, the dynamics of the local market, and demand generators · Analyzing and reviewing monthly and weekly STAR Report results, understanding gains or losses of REVPAR and TREVPAR Index and applying this knowledge to impact and predict future results · Staying abreast of industry and local market trends · Collaborating with the marketing department to fabricate demand during need periods and identify strategic e-blast and other marketing offers. · This role will work closely with the Hotel Director, LLCR Sales & Marketing Director and Sales Manager to set out the strategy and tactics for the hotel offering to maximize daily revenue. · The Revenue Manager will advise on and exploit all short, medium and long-term revenue opportunities across all hotel activities · Providing support and input to the park marketing team to create impactful and profitable business during shoulder and need periods. · Maximizing revenue generated through the attraction · Creating incremental revenue opportunities from day use visitors (specifically retail and food & beverage) · Chairing the development of all pricing and market mix strategies and managing and optimizing sales opportunities on 3rd party channels such as OTAs and wholesalers · Providing strategic tactics based on historical data and current trends · Participating in the annual RFP process for negotiated accounts · Assisting in the development and execution of a strategic plan and the annual operating plan for the hotel · Analyzing market trends and communicating results to the corporate and hotel sales team · Developing, monitoring and adjusting group pricing strategies, preferred patterns, and need periods · Performing displacement analysis on groups to support group sales decisions · Managing group cut-off dates and block shortfalls and overages · Training sales and front office teams to understand revenue management principles and the roles they play · Training team on how to maximize the value of available revenue management tools · Leading, implementing and maintaining procedures and standards · Producing hotel forecasts to be used within the business for planning and cost management · Ability to build and development a team Background and Experience: · Minimum of 5 years of hotel revenue management experience preferred · Skilled in problem analysis, problem solving and decision making · Above average Excel knowledge; extremely comfortable compiling and manipulating data · Analytical and creative person to monitor trends and performance while developing new ideas and revenue streams within the hotel. · Job Description
