Job Description :
Raytheon Mission Operations and Services seeks a
systems engineering professional with a solid understanding of risk management principles and practical experience in risk management on large-scale systems consisting of software and large hardware components. Manage all risk and opportunity management (ROM) processes for a large, highly diverse and geographically distributed system development team/project. Mentor members of the technical staff in ROM processes and principles that are not familiar with formal risk management. The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Entering risk and opportunity data into the risk management database and maintaining the database over time.
- Guiding the identification of risk and opportunity items and entering the initial risk and opportunity data into the Risk & Opportunity tracking database.
- Serving as the coordinator, facilitator and secretariat for the Risk & Opportunity Management Board (ROMB) meetings at the project and subproject levels creating ROMB agendas, taking and publishing meeting minutes, and updating Risk & Opportunity item status.
- Ensuring the risks and opportunities for the project are tracked and managed on an ongoing basis,
- Generating Risk and Opportunity management reports to support project activities.
- Leading periodic workshops and brainstorming sessions to identify new project risks and opportunities.
The job location is Washington, DC with occasional business travel to work locations in California, Massachusetts and Washington state.
Required Skills :
Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related science or technical field with a minimum of
4+ years systems engineering experience and specific experience as a Risk & Opportunity Manager. Must have experience with modern systems engineering methods for risk and opportunity management.
Desired Skills :
Experience with an automated risk and opportunity management tool is desired. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills preferred.
