Risk Policy Manager - Consumer Banking Risk Management


This Risk Policy manager is responsible to develop and recommend policies and procedures that govern the loss mitigation activities and operations controls within the Consumer Banking organization. Partner with Branch Administration, Retail Operations, Retail IT and other groups, including Audit and Compliance, to review existing controls related processes and procedures within Consumer Banking for efficiency and effectiveness and assist in implementing new procedures as required.  Assist businesses to identify, escalate and quantify risk and loss events.  Perform root cause and trending analysis to identify controls that require improvement and coordinate updates and interpretations of Corporate and Consumer Banking risk policies.  Assess new business initiatives and business driven process and procedure changes for risk and provide guidance on additional controls necessary to mitigate risk.  Successful candidate must be able to compress information into short and concise presentations and have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills for all levels, including senior management.  Candidate will manage one to two additional risk management staff members.


 


 



 

  • Bachelor's degree (BS / BA) preferred.

  • A working knowledge of auditing, risk and operational management concepts and the ability to understand and interpret the impact of policy and procedural changes, as well as identify and convey potential problem areas.

  • Be able to adapt to work flow variation and change.

  • Strong analytical skills, advanced judgment capability, strong problem solving and timely decision making ability.

  • Action oriented and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent time management and planning skills.

  • Detailed oriented and have the ability to work independently and manage project teams.

  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and process

  • Strong knowledge of banking risk customer service fraud and exposure

  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to influence Sr managers in a matrix management environment

  • Ability to work in a team environment, provide oversight and directly influence change.

  • Excellent computer skills:  MS Office Applications, MS Project, Visio Professional.
