Barloworld Handling is southeast’s largest distributor of material handling equipment.  We are part of Barloworld, an international industrial brand management company, whose world headquarters is located in Johannesburg, South Africa.

We currently have an opening for a Road Service Technician.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB:  Under the limited supervision of the

Metro Service Manager, performs all required repair, replacement or

troubleshooting assignments on all Hyster models and/or competing

makes of lift trucks.  Work is performed at customer’s location.   

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:  

· Minimum of four (4) years of directly related mechanical repair

  experience

· Valid Driver’s License and forklift certified

· Must be able to excel with little supervision

· Ability to effectively deal with customers and understand related

  reports

· Strong verbal, written, and communication skills

· Must be detail oriented and organized

·Ability to work under and handle pressure situations

SUMMARY OF JOB TASKS

1.  Detect and repair faults in all major components or systems of Hyster and other equipment including electrical, propulsion, hydraulic, mechanical, etc.

2.  Maintains truck inventory by proper and regular parts reorders.  May be required to seek and purchase needed parts at outside sources.

3.  Required to keep and regularly submit reports and invoices to the Service Manager.

4.  Performs other related duties as required.
