Successful 8a roofing contractor has an exceptional opportunity for a full time Estimator/Project Manager, based out of the Middle Ga Area. We are looking for an individual that is a self-starter and energetic to manage projects and estimate jobs in the government arena, with a specializing in IDIQ type contracts. We service federal installations throughout the United States with an average sales volume of 10 to 12 million, and can offer a competitive salary and benefits package. 5 years of project management and construction estimating experience is required.
Ø Production & Administration
- Reports to the Operation Manager, General Manager, Vice President,
- Supports the Accounting & Contract Admin Departments
- Oversees and directs overall construction management for assigned projects
- Leads and directs the work of the Superintendents
- Acts as the project contact for the company
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected in order to accomplish goals
- Familiar with a variety of the industry's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Performs a variety of necessary tasks that are within the scope of work for the completion of projects
- Attends job site progress meetings, safety meetings
- Attends monthly project status meeting, and reports completion percentages weekly to Contract Administrator
- Responsible for identifying training requirements for Superintendents & Crew Members for project compliance and safety
- Coordinates construction with the client’s activities and the community
- Generates all Material Submittals, Progress Schedules, for submission by the Contract Administrator
- Generates Progress Reports for approval by the Inspector, or Contracting Officer
- Monitors paperwork for payroll, daily production, and expenses
- Responsible for field staffing, outlining project plans, setting project goals/deadlines, and evaluating Superintendent & project performance
- Communicate directly with contractors, designers, suppliers, and Superintendents concerning equipment, materials, project cost, staffing, and scheduling
- Prepares project status reports and works to ensure that plans adhere to contract specifications
- Ensures that all necessary permits, are obtained and paid for
- Ensures that construction projects are completed on time and to the client’s satisfaction
- Resolves contract disputes and completes paperwork for any necessary change orders with the Operations Manager’s approval.
- Reviews and approves the invoices of subcontractors and suppliers
- Reports progress billing percentages/amounts
- Develops a Communication Plan and Procedures
- Identifies key stakeholders, roles, and responsibilities
- Develops site specific processes, procedures, systems, and controls
- Determines the need for temporary facilities
- Discusses potential bid alternatives, options, and materials with the client
- Reports to the Operations Manager
Ø Estimating / Job Costing
- Generates Estimates for proposal purposes
- Generates Budgets for awarded projects
- Purchases/Rents required materials, supplies, equipment for assigned projects
- Periodically reviews budget against job costs, and projects costs as needed
- Manages Job Cost Reports, and reports variances from budget to the Operations Manager and up line.
Ø Safety
- Responsible for overall safety of personnel, equipment, and client property
- Follows Company/OSHA safety and employment rules
- Defines Safety objectives for the project
- Develops site specific Safety Plans
- Attends job site safety meetings
Ø Vehicle Management
- Defines vehicle needs
- Monitors vehicle cleanliness
- Monitors proper maintenance
- Monitors proper use
- Reviews Accident reports
Ø Equipment Management
- Defines equipment needs
- Monitors needed repairs
- Monitors proper maintenance
- Monitors proper use
- Monitors functional checks of equipment before use or transport
Ø Project Closeout
- Finalizes punchlist items for Warranty and Owner sign-off
- Schedules and monitors correction and completion efforts
- Arranges final inspection with client
- Secures required affidavits, guarantees, bonds, and waivers
- Provides client with all required keys, manuals, and construction records & drawings
- Responsible for resolution and scheduling of Warranty issues
- Responsible for providing information for final project billing.
