The successful candidate will serve as a liaison and resource to employees, management and the corporation with regard to safety and will also ensure compliance with federal, state, company and customer policies and procedures in the conduct of our shop and field operations. Other key functions include:

–        Providing advice, counsel and leadership for the overall implementation of the safety program

–        Coordinating training of employees to maintain compliance with regulatory and company requirements and to increase skills and awareness in the Safety area

–        Developing and monitoring goals and objectives

–        Conducting audits, observations and inspections to identify risks, hazards and other loss-producing events

–        Providing accident investigation, review, oversight and analysis and recommending root cause corrective action

–        Preparing and issuing reports, including those required by regulatory authorities

–        Changing, improving and updating safety policies

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five to 10 years of experience in a mining or industrial environment. Knowledge of Safety concepts, standards and training; computer proficiency; and good coordination, communication and leadership skills are essential.
