Primary responsibility for providing and promoting library services to students and faculty at a San Francisco Learning Center Campus. Responsible for providing information literacy and electronic database training for nursing students and faculty. Collaborates with Learning Center based faculty and Oakland library staff to continuously evaluate and improve library services.



MLS or MLIS from ALA accredited program or minimum of two years of professional level experience in health science library
Two years experience in academic or health science library. Knowledge of health science literature especially in field of Nursing. Skill in searching electronic information sources. Ability to download, manipulate and disseminate results of database searches. Familiarity with Endnotes desirable. Familiarity with MESH, CINAHL, NLM classification systems. Ability to teach both small groups and in a classroom setting. Ability to manipulate software programs (Excel, MS Word, Endnotes, Horizon) to create effective documents, tables, graphs, bibliographies and instructional materials. Experience in training people of diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, students, faculty and staff. Ability to explain complex concepts using English  language. Familiarity with integrated library systems. Some cataloging skills desirable. Ability to function independently and use good professional judgement.
