Partner Technology has been retained to recruit a SAN and Net Backup Administrator with 3-5 years of experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Delivery of superior technical services.
- Responsible for implementation configuration planning problem analysis performance and tuning of technical infrastructure.
- Provide technical consultation to business and resource units applications to ensure optimal performance associated with the hardware application database and operating system environments.
- Will be extensively involved in client facing work at an operations management level.
- Provide installation and support for operating systems, and third party vendor software.
- Monitor and manage system performance.
- Provide direction, installation and support of Enterprise System Management including escalation and system performance of production platforms.
- Function as third-tier support for systems software, with escalation to vendor for hardware and software issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain plan to ensure successful recovery of operating systems environment in the event of a disaster according to Corporate Disaster Recovery Policy.
- Perform systems analysis and tuning to insure optimal operating systems response for multi-user, database server, and web server environments.
- Provide technology assessments in support of automation and technology migration initiatives.
- Recommend improvements; manage/maintain production and non-production systems to ensure infrastructure performs at maximum efficiency.
- Implement/maintain Corporate Data Security guidelines.
- Provide on-call technical support via pager as required.
Candidate Profile:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Clear understanding of project’s role in meeting departmental objectives advanced business knowledge and above average project management skills.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision on a complex project.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Incumbents at this level must be fully familiar with all aspects of information technologies including: hardware, software, operating systems, network protocols, etc.
Requirements:
- NetBackup: 3-5 years experience installation, administration and upgrading on version 5.1 -> 6.5.x. Version 6.5.x experience a must.
- SAN: 3-5 years experience SAN configuration and zoning with tier 2 storage provisioning.
- EMC, Brocade and McData experience a must.
- Bocada Backup Reporting: experience with creating backup reports a plus.
Education & Professional Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in related technical discipline and four years relevant experience or Master’s Degree in related technical discipline and minimum two years relevant experience or Minimum eight years relevant experience without college degree.
