Title:              Storage Area Network (SAN) Engineer

Location:     Rosslyn, VA

Job Description:
This position is a technical hands-on role in engineering and support of the EMC Storage Area Network (SAN). This position also functions as tier-3 support to Network Operations support services. Must participate in the development and enforcement of company IT Standards, Policies and Procedures, develop and update technical documentation.

Apply solid problem-solving techniques consistent with an advanced knowledge of technical and operational issues involving EMC SAN technologies as well as fiber channel and Microsoft clustering. Work closely with other systems architects and project managers to implement system enhancements and upgrades. Produce technical documentation and seek and incorporate feedback where appropriate. Collaborate with client, server and other internal/external teams to identify support and technology advancements. Provide clear, concise, and customized documentation that is appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences. Manage all aspects of SAN infrastructure.

• Maintain and Support Fiber Channel
• Provide Support of Window 2000 / 2003 Network

Requirements:
• MUST POSSESS CURRENT TOP SECRET CLEARANCE
• Knowledge and support experience of EMC SAN
• Microsoft Cluster Administration
• Advance knowledge of file system management, access control and directory organization
• Must be comfortable working with many different groups, inside and outside of IT, to help solve business problems
• Proficiency in MS OS: WinNT, Win2000, Win XP, Windows 2000/2003 server, Microsoft Active Directory, Lotus Notes, Enterprise tools for OS deployment, software distribution, back-up and disaster recovery, client setups for Applications, SQL server, backup tape support for servers, file recovery.
• Ability to react to high priority problem calls, and interface with a variety of clients.

• Proven organizational skills
• Extensive troubleshooting experience

Desired Skills and Experience:
• Microsoft Distributed File System (DFS) Experience
• Dell/HP blade experience
• Knowledge of switches, routers, and firewalls
• Knowledge of DNS, IIS, MS SQL server, RAID configurations
• Knowledge of Blackberry device configuration and BES administration.
• Experience in a Government contracting environment is preferable.

Required Education and Certifications:
• 1 Industry Certification (MSCE, A+, MCP)

Desired Education and Certifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS or related technical degree desirable.
• Microsoft MCSE 2003
