POSITION PURPOSE
This position is responsible for the development, modification and maintenance of new and existing financial reports across the organization. As such, the incumbent will act as a liaison between the business community and the IT and BW groups to explore, prioritize and rationalize business reporting requirements against existing resources. The goal of all department team members is to provide distinguished customer service via reports that are useful, timely, contain accurate and consistent data, aid in the decision making process, and ultimately meet the needs of all report users.
This position will:
· Take the lead in requirement gathering, functional specification development and determination of the best data source to meet the users’ business and financial reporting needs. Understanding and challenging business requests are key components of this process.
· Use SAP Business Warehouse query tools, Business Objects tools and SAP Report Painter to design and create the required reports. For more complex reports, the incumbent will work with the requesting personnel as well as the SAP Development and Business Warehouse personnel in the report development. All development work is done within the framework of the Reporting Governance rules to ensure useful, accurate, consistent and non-duplicative data.
· Complete the project work plan at a detailed task level and execute assigned tasks and deliverables according to the defined timetable in a quality, detailed and timely manner.
· Assist in the development of testing, training development and overall support for user acceptance and adoption.
To be considered for this job, you should have a blend of business and technical skills, interest and background. An in-depth understanding of the business operations, excellent listening and communication skills, and experience and understanding of relational databases and data warehousing are required. Knowledge of SAP FI/CO reporting tools including Business Warehouse and Business Objects is required. The incumbent must also have good analytical skills, creative problem solving ability, and experience working in a team environment. A strong customer service orientation in all dealings with internal and external customers is needed, along with the ability to be assertive while being diplomatic. Although this is a “business” position, a high technical ability is needed, along with flexibility to change and learn as technology changes.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports directly to the Manager of Financial Information Services and works closely with two technical teams, the SAP Development and Business Intelligence teams. In addition, the individual will work to support the financial reporting needs of the entire organization so will closely interact with a wide spectrum of employees.
