CSC is actively searching for a mid-level to senior level SCA Computer Operator 3 (IAO Assistant) to help support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division, at the Norco, CA. location.
In this position the candidate will provide IT (Information Technology) and IA (Information Assurance) support to the NSWC Corona, Product Engineering Assessment (PE) Department. This position's primary responsibility is to assist the PE Department Information Assurance Officer (IAO) in the performance of her duties with emphasis on IT security. Duties include researching and reporting on IT related policies and procedures; developing IT process and procedure documents; compiling IT compliance data; documenting system security configurations; gathering, analyzing, and reporting on computer/network configuration data; preparing purchase requests; and performing simple, repetitive computer/network support tasks. This position requires a motivated individual who is able to follow directions and, after initial training, work independently, performing unique and varied tasks with a minimum of guidance and direct supervision.


Qualification
Requires a minimum of one year's college education in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Management, and/or general Information Technology. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of advanced education. Requires at least ONE of the following: GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF) certification, Security+ certification, GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC), certification as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or certification as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Candidate must be certified at IAT Level II in compliance with DoD 8570.01-M within six months of hire date.Specific experience with configuration and maintenance of networks highly desired. Hands on computer hardware experience also desired. Must be proficient in verbal and written English, and able to effectively communicate IT concepts with personnel of all levels. Candidate must be able to sit for long periods, and able to lift up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision must be sufficient to permit working at a computer terminalfor extended periods of time and working on computer hardware. California driver's license required. Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to acquire and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
