The SCM Capital Effectiveness Program Manager will assume the position of SCM's functional leader for Newmont's Capital Effectiveness Program for all capital projects in the development pipeline (Mega Projects, Large Projects, Small/Regional Projects and M&A activities). Manage SCM capital planning activities to ensure that SCM Corporate and SCM Regions effectively participate in the development and execution of Newmont's Capital Projects and the appropriate organizational expertise and resources are available to support project development. Essential Duties include:
- Participate in CEP and Newmont's Stage-Gate program activities as the Supply Chain Management functional lead.
- Coordinate the preparation of specific deliverables and other services that Supply Chain Management (Corporate and/or Regional) are to provide based on established Stage-Gate requirements (Stages 1 through 5) for projects and enlist the necessary support from SCM Corporate and regional staff (Subject Matter Experts, Commodity Managers, Business Segment Leads, Analysts, etc.).
- Work with and coach Supply Chain Management staff (Corporate & Regional) in CEP work processes, in order for managers and staff understand the program and the their contributory roles.
- Work in alignment with Newmont's Discovery and Development Team, and in particular the Project Services Group, in planning and execution of projects based on a specific strategies agreed upon for a project.
- Work with Newmont's Technical Services Group and Project Teams to determine process equipment requirements, mobile equipment requirements and other supply requirements for future projects, and lead in the procurement activities for certain equipment.
- Conduct risk reviews and determine optimal supply chain delivery systems, and participate in preparing project execution plans (procurement, contracting, logistics, material management plans) for each project depending on the stage of development.
- Provide guidance and assistance to Regional SCM in the planning and execution of Business Readiness Plan to ensure SCM disciplines are fully operational at time of operational start-up.
Working Conditions

- Flexible hours are required to accommodate global meetings and conference calls
- Moderate travel to domestic and international sites
- BA/BS is required
- 15+ years experience in Supply Chain Management with a strong background in equipment procurement, contracts management and materials management
- Extensive experience in capital projects including project planning with a preference for experience in mine development
- Extensive experience in international projects including projects in developing countries
- Broad based experience in equipment and construction bulk commodity procurement, material control, international logistics and inspection, contracts administration and other supply chain management disciplines.
- Strong computer literacy is required
- Strong analytical and communication skills (writing & verbal skils)
