Job Summary: · On site support for Federal customer located in Suitland, Maryland. · Design, install, upgrade, maintenance, and troubleshooting of multiple Cisco Firewall Service Modules in Cisco Catalyst 6509e chassis, with multiple contexts and multiple DMZ's per context in a highly available/redundant configuration. · Design, install, upgrade, maintenance, and troubleshooting of multiple Cisco ASA's · Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot VPN connections between Federal customer and other agencies. · Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Secure ID servers and Cisco VPN remote users. · Set up, maintain and troubleshoot Websense Enterprise system integrated to Cisco FWSM and ASA's in order to properly identify user activity and to provide bandwidth utilization. · Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Cisco Clean Access servers in order to support wireless infrastructure. · Firewall performance tuning, installing and configuring multiple DMZ's, configure NATing, troubleshooting wired and wireless network problems, checking firewall logs and activity. · Daily review of system logs in order to proactively catch suspicious network · Develop and implement polices for network security · Conduct performance and stress testing of the network and security components; include tuning for throughput performance as well as faster fail-over. · Conduct security testing of the network and servers. · Prepare disaster recovery plans for the network and security devices; conduct recovery tests · Response to network and systems failures as needed. · Analyze and resolve product support deficiencies · Interface with vendors for network and security products. · Implement industry best practices for configuration management and change management of network and security devices. · Design secure remote management techniques for network and security devices · Use the existing change management processes and helpdesk system to implement change. · Follow the technical configuration management tasking and implement changes during scheduled windows. · Perform the installation, configuration and tuning as well as ongoing maintenance of client and third-party product components and subsystems for all client organizations. · Respond to system failures and work with the vendor to resolve issues related to firewalls, DMZ's, and servers. · Perform regularly scheduled hardware and software maintenance as well as configuration backups. Education: BS or MS in IT/CS field Requirements: · The candidate will have thorough hands-on experience with the Cisco Firewall Service Module (FWSM), Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), Cisco Clean Access Server, Cisco Network Analysis Module, and Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switches. · An ideal candidate has experience with Websense content filtering software, RSA SecurID 2-factor authentication system and Cisco CS-MARS. · Skill with Sun Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Microsoft Windows XP and 2003 server, use of Remedy Action Request system, and other firewall vendors and applications is a plus. · Understanding of government security guidelines (FIPS, NIST, FISMA, etc). · 5 years of experience or 10 years experience in lieu of a degree. · Strong oral and written communication skills as well as CCNA, CCSP or equivalent experience required. · The ideal candidate will be results oriented, with experience that fosters team cooperation, and continuous process improvement. · Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of individuals (team player) in a fast-paced environment. · Ability to track numerous incidents and clients. · Position requires U.S. citizenship, background check, and fingerprinting. Desired Skills: · Ideal candidate is a strong team player, quality conscious, has excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills, and is highly self motivated. · Direct hands-on support to vendor tool integration, and/or IT integration. · Professional certification such as CCNA, Security+, CISSP. · Experience working in a Federal government environment.
