JOB DESCRIPTION
CDI ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS AN IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITION TO BE LOCATED AT OUR CLIENT SITE IN ANCHORAGE, ALASKA.
Senior Mechanical Engineer:
Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities for this role are as follows:
• Assure that all repair and project work is in compliance with client and industry mechanical, pressure vessel and piping codes and standards.
• Provide mechanical engineering expertise to Maintenance, Operations, and Facility Engineers to resolve problems and determine repair methods for existing mechanical equipment and piping.
• Provide mechanical engineering discipline guidance to major projects groups.
• Rule on appropriateness of specification deviations for all capital and maintenance activities being performed on the North Slope at BPXA facilities.
• Act as Technical Authority for all client piping and mechanical and welding / NDE criteria / specifications.
• Direct work activities of North Slope-based Veco piping designers.
• Ensure all pipeline repairs are performed according to code and good design practice.
• Serve as facility engineer for certain areas, e.g., Grind and Inject, C Pad, Pad 3, PBOC, Well Services.
• Serve as a fill-in facility engineer for any of the client North Slope facilities.
• Serve as project leader for mechanically related projects designed on the North Slope.
• Provide welding and non-destructive testing engineering support to all client North Slope operations and construction groups.
• Provide fitness-for-service evaluations and failure analysis investigation support as required for client North Slope operations.
• Maintain familiarity with development and technological advances in the industry with the objective of selecting, developing and recommending changes that will improve rate, reliability, operability and efficiency.
• Provide mechanical engineering discipline peer review and recommendations for client locations throughout the world.
Experience & Knowledge
To be considered for this role, applicants must have the following qualifications:
• Strong health, safety and environment (HSE) focus and commitment
• 10-plus years of experience in upstream oil and gas production and gas processing
• 10-plus years of experience using ASME Pressure Vessel and Piping Codes (B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API, MSS, ANSI)
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Strong influencing skills
Preferred Qualifications
• State of Alaska Boiler Pressure Vessel Inspectors license
• Professional registration
Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferable, but other engineering discipline degrees acceptable with relevant experience
English fluency required
