Purchasing is looking to hire a highly motivated individual to join its group. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, EH&S, Engineering or a related field. The candidate must have 5 years work experience with a minimum of 2 years related business work experience in contract administration, inventory management, material and service procurements, managing suppliers and/or field operations experience preferred. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and proficient knowledge of the Company legacy computer systems (MMS, PMS, Contractor Oversight System), Internet and other computer systems, including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint. Applicant must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks, demonstrate strong analytical skills and set priorities. The candidate must also have demonstrated an ability to accept challenges by thinking creatively and recommending new and novel solutions.
The selected candidate will provide both procurement and administrative support for the Purchasing department including support for the planning and procurement of equipment and supplies, Purchasing’s vendor performance programs and Corporate-Wide Action-Line services. Specific job responsibilities will include initiating the contract process for Term Order, Blanket Order and Crossdocking procurements, and monitoring expenditures for Blanket Orders and Ladder Contracts. Position requires significant verbal and written contact with internal customers and Company suppliers. Other duties will include acting as a liaison between the internal customer, the vendor, Engineering, Corporate EH&S and Central Field Services to coordinate the material forecasting for special projects, setting of appropriate inventory levels and the establishment, modification, replacement and elimination of class/stock items. Prepare related reports and perform other duties as assigned.
All candidates must possess a valid driver’s license. The selected candidate must be able to travel to various Company and supplier locations, some of which may require overnight travel. All candidates must additionally be available to perform occasional off-hour emergency buyer functions, some of which may require working extended or non-traditional hours.
