JOB DESCRIPTION:
Senior Tax Accountant sought by a global software provider.
- Company headquartered in North Atlanta, with national and international operations
- Challenging and dynamic work environment with a very talented team
- Reports to the Tax Manager
- Location: North Atlanta Metro, GA
POSITION SUMMARY: Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for income tax filings, reporting, and audits, tax provisions, and compliance with US GAAP and SOX,. Senior Tax Accountant interacts with various operating departments and divisions on specific tax issues and tax application situations. Specific responsibilities include:
- Manage all duties in accordance with company accounting policies and financial control procedures
- Prepare local, state, and federal tax returns
- Prepare and analyse statistical and financial reports
- Complete tax provision calculations in accordance with FAS-109
- Conduct tax research including laws, rules, regulations, and legislation, and provide guidance to ensure that tax is accounted for appropriately
- Identify risks and process improvement opportunities, suggest solutions
- Assist in resolving tax issues such as tax credits for various state income tax returns
- Assist in complying with federal and state tax audits
- Special projects on an as needed basis
REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS Accounting; Masters in Tax preferred
- CPA and/or Public tax accounting experience desired
- Corporate tax accounting experience in Federal & State income tax and tax provisions (FAS-109)
- Very detailed oriented with strong analytical skills
- Self-starter, takes initiative, sense of urgency, excellent communication skills, team member
- Strong Excel and accounting/financial software skills
