The Sr. Billing/Collection-Gov't is responsible for revenue cycle activities related to and support of Hospital Business Office operations and patient accounting. Specific duties include; follow-up on assigned inventory of accounts, calculation of expected reimbursement, research of Medicare, Georgia Medicaid, Out of State Medicaid, Managed Care contractual allowances, information system integrity, government and regulatory compliance, third-party correspondence, account reconciliation, and data entry. Must have detailed knowledge of VisionShare (FSS/DDE), RTP claim corrections and critical access billing rules. Also, responsible for the integrity and confidentiality of patient account financial and medical record files. Complies with hospital and departmental policies and procedures as well as supporting the Mercy Philosophy of Saint Joseph's Hospital. The employee will adhere to all applicable federal and state laws, local ordinances, standards of regulatory agencies as well as requirements of federal, state and private health plans within the department/service and the hospital. Which includes the participation in the Compliance Program that reduces the risk of unlawful or improper conduct within the department/service and the hospital, and also the employee is charged with the prevention, detection, and resolution of conduct that does not conform to applicable federal and state laws, local ordinances, standards of regulatory agencies as well as health care program requirements of federal, state and private health plans.
The ideal applicant will have a minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred and HFMA Certified Patient Account Representative Required within one (1) y
