Saint Joseph's East Georgia is guided by the Saint Joseph's Health System mission of improving the health of the people of our communities. Saint Joseph's East Georgia is a 25-bed acute care critical access hospital accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, serving the Lake Oconee area of East Georgia. We offer a wide range of services including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. As a Saint Joseph's Health System hospital, we are able to bring you specialty services close to home, provided by a network of physicians. We also can provide you with access to the expertise and specialty services at Saint Joseph's Hospital Atlanta when you require care not available locally.

The Supervisor, Registration is responsible for the daily supervision and direction of human and technological resources for Emergency Registration, and various point of service Registration locations throughout the facilities. Position ensures the delivery of superior customer service while minimizing hospital, physician and patient exposure to financial loss. Supports department leadership in attaining department quality and productivity standards. Coordinates and prioritizes daily work volume within each work unit. Matches resources to work load with a focus on maximizing resource utilization and timely service delivery. Serves as a direct resource to front-line staff members. Maintains direct responsibility for staff cross-training and allocation of staff resources according to patient activity and complexity of services. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, third party payer requirements and other outside agencies. Maintains positive and collaborative working relations with other hospital departments. Serves as a Physician Liaison and Patient Advocate; setting an example for all department staff. Maintains basic understanding of Revenue Cycle and demonstrates ability to use knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve problems. Maintains current knowledge of industry and technology trends within Patient Access Services. Assists in the development and implementation of new processes, procedures or technology in order to improve delivery of department services and support the Mercy Mission and Philosophy. Responsible for assisting Revenue Cycle Leadership and Senior Management in the development of departmental budget. Assists with department projects and other hospital initiatives. Demonstrates the ability to participate in the development and execution of project work plans within defined timelines. Position requires excellent customer and employee relations skills. Extensive use of PC, multi-tasking and strong analytical skills are required.

The ideal candidate will be a High School graduate or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. Relevant healthcare experience may be considered in lieu of degree(s). National Certifications preferred (including Certified National Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM)). A minimum of two (2) years progressive supervisory or management experience with at least four (4) years in the field of Patient Access Service or related experience required. Advanced computer skills in Microsoft applications in addition to working knowledge of healthcare scheduling, registration and/or billing systems highly desirable.
