The SMT Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for setting up new SMT manufacturing processes, supporting new product introduction, resolving product and process issues, and driving continuous manufacturing improvement in order to meet customer service requirements and a quality matrix.
Principle Accountabilities:
The SMT Manufacturing Engineer will:
·Coordinate on Line Qualification and Prduct Qualification
·Coordinate with Customer and factory on Engineering change request
·Perform or coordinate process audit to sustain factory to compliance to manufacturing requirement
·Standardize best practices within Flex Mobile Consumer on RIM business
·Drive critical mmeasurement(KPI) : Yield,Scrap, Line Down time
·Capacity analysis, Line capacity utilization
·Carry out productivity improvement program and cost reduction initiatives
·Analyze and resolve production problems
·Support new product development and introduction
·Develop new manufacturing processes
·Guide associate engineers and intern engineering students in improving product quality in SMT Equipment Programming, Temperature Profiling & Lead-free Process
Job Requirements:
·Generation and optimization of Printing, Placement, Reflow & AOI / X-ray Programs associated with NPIs & ECOs
·Training Associate Engineers and technicians across all shifts & equipment, including pre-emptively with new equipment, to ensure production efficiency is maintained
·Ensure the Calibration & Preventive Maintenance Systems are maintained up-to-date at all times
·Provide input to SMT DFM reviews for NPIs
·Able to read SPC
·Six Sigma Capability
·Co-ordination of the commissioning & validation of new SMT line equipment
·Support RFQ Engineer in assessing SMT capacity & capability requirements.
·Project management and task management skills that include the ability to plan, prioritize, organize, gather facts, prepare schedules, document procedures and processes, and exercise sound judgment in decision making.
Technical Knowledge Areas:
·Experience on DEK Printers, Sanyo/Universal Placement, Heller Reflow & Orbotech/Cyber Optics AOI a considerable advantage, along with technical flexibility and adaptability to encompass to-be equipment
·Ability to communicate latest DFM requirements to Electronic Design Engineers
·Working knowledge of Cellular Manufacturing Design, Takt Time Analysis, APQP, PPAP MSA, PFMEAs, DFM Rules, 5S & OEE Measurement.
Education & Experience:
·Degree/Diploma in a related Engineering discipline (Manufacturing / Industrial / Mechanical / Electronic)
·Minimum 3 Year SMT Experience in a high volume Electronics Manufacturing environment, with particular emphasis on experience
