Currently we are seeking Software Engineers II to work in our ISS Division
( http://www.scires.com/divisions/iss.htm ) in beautiful, historic Charleston, SC.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop software programs, modules, functions, or scripts in support of the NAVMACS II version 3.1.
Develop software scripts and / or incorporate additional open source or commercial applications as required to meet stated program objectives, requirements, security upgrades, and interface modifications.
Provide documentation for software code generated or modified for inclusion within the existing code base, and for other required program documents including Software Requirements Documents, Interface Design Documents, Technical Manuals, System Release Notes, Patch Support Documents, and white papers as required by the sponsor.
Research and document NSA requirements for Cross Domain Solutions and develop recommendations intended to: 1.) Improve the security standing of the existing NAVMACS software product and 2.) To re-design elements of the system to enable short, medium, and long term CDS certification.
REQUIREMENTS:
Linux Administration and / or Programming.
Red Hat Certified Engineer or Red Hat Certified Security Specialist .
DoDD 8570.1M applicable Network or Security Engineering certification.
Experience programming utilizing C or C++ and JAVA programming languages.
Development of scripts and modules to enhance system security.
Experience programming with NSA_s SELinux properties, roles, and policies.
Experience related to creation of services accessible via network based clients.
DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Security Experience:
- Demonstrate experience with the DIACAP process and supporting efforts associated with obtaining an Authority To Connect or Interim Authority to Connect for a Navy or DoD software application.
- Demonstrate experience utilizing DISA security tools including STIG_s, the Gold Disk, NESSUS, and HBSS is desired.
- Experience providing Red Hat System Administration support, ideally in the Red Hat 5.X environment.
