SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER

TYBRIN'S Engineering and Test Group provides engineering support services and scientific computer software expertise in the integration of weapons systems, real-time and simulation networks for test and evaluations, telemetry (data acquisition) systems, post test applications, decision support systems, command and control, and mission planning systems software development testing.

TYBRIN is currently seeking a Software Test Engineer at Peterson AFB, CO. This position is embedded in the 850th Electronic Systems Group to provide test engineering and test management support to the 46th Test Squadron (46 TS) for Combatant Commanders Integrated Command and Control System (CCIC2S) and other Space Command and Control (C2) test programs. The successful candidate will conduct C2 system testing, Validation and Verification testing, and Modeling and Simulation testing at Peterson AFB, CO and TDY locations.
Duties include:

  • Detailed test planning, hands-on test execution, test team management, and test data analysis and reduction.

  • Developing and writing methods of test, technical or letter reports, and any other test process documents required in the conduction of testing.

  • Attending meetings as necessary to provide briefings, information, and/or technical support.

  • Developing test cases and scenarios, writing detailed test procedures, performing data management, data reduction, and data analysis.

Education Desired/Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or other technical discipline is required.
Experience Required:
  • Experience with Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment (ITW / AA) systems to include missile, air, and space warning systems.

  • Acquisition program, developmental or operational test and evaluation experience, and detailed knowledge of Air Force Command and Control (C2) test methodologies and AFI 99-103, AFMAN 63-119 and AFTO 00-35D-54 is required.

  • Candidate should also possess technical and test management skills and proficiency in the use personal computers and office automation applications.

  • Must have the ability to interface with prime system developers regarding test objectives, schedules, budgets, and methods of test.

  • Must be capable of traveling to developers' facilities, out-of-state test sites, and other locations, as required.

  • Must possess effective oral and written communications skills.

  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a test team, and to lead and direct the work of others.
