This is an exciting new role – The Spine Center Manager will be a Nurse Practitioner who will oversee all Spine Center operations. The nurse must have MSN and current FL RN and ARNP licenses. They are looking for someone with 2 years experience in Ortho/Neuro/Rehab services, specifically dealing with spinal care. And they have a strong preference for an APN/ARNP experience in Spinal Care. Here is a summary of the responsibilities:
Responsible for administering the managerial functions of setting objectives, planning, organizing, controlling and evaluating the activities of the Spine Center to produce excellence in all aspects of service, outcome and cost. Responsible for assisting development of clinical pathways for the spine patients. Responsible for seeing patients in the Spine Clinic under the guidance of the Medical Director of the Spine Center. Reviews timelines and findings of prior diagnostic testing. If preliminary diagnostic testings as prescribed by clinical protocols are not available, then manager orders necessary test. After initial exam triages patients to the appropriate physician(s). Follows patients through continuum of care to optimize adherence to clinical protocols. Participates in clinical case conferences. Makes rounds on the programs’ surgical patients to intervene as necessary, patients on outpatient spine care services, and facilitate other services (ie discharge planning). Case manages the spine patient (as a case load) through the system to ensure quality and effectiveness/efficiencies of care with the goal being an overall positive patient experience and outcome. Oversees and manages outcome database and develops quality indicator reports for quarterly review. Responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of pre and post-operative educational programs for the patients served. Applies evidence based practice patterns to make outgoing program enhancements to patient care, interventions and outcome. Provides 24/7 telephone access to patients for questions and early problem solving. Develops a tracking program of physician referral patterns, % of surgeries generated; payer mix and other indicators to be determined and reports to department meetings. Works with Marketing, Nursing and participating physicians to promote Spine Program internally at BMC and externally. Work with team managers (Nurse Manager, Therapy Manager etc) to review and create improved customer service feedback rating.
The requirements for this position are :
· Must have current Florida ARNP license.
· Must have CPR and ACLS training.
· Must have 2 years experience in Ortho/Neuro/Rehab services specifically with Spinal Care.
· Prefer APN/ARNP experience in Spinal Care.
· Prefer Case Management experience.
· Must have strong Interpersonal skills, Critical Thinking skills, Education skills, Leadership/Management skills and excellent Customer Service skills.
