Position Description

SQL DBA

We are looking for several SQL DBA's with the following background.
You should be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
Proven experience n the administration and operations of Database systems (SQL Server)
7-10 years of SQL Server administration experience
Experience working with development team members
Experience with Oracle, Sybase, Informix or DB2.
Proficient in use of computer application systems such as Microsoft Office
In depth understanding of computer operating concepts.
Extensive understanding of computer inter-networking concepts (drives, servers, networking, cabling, interfaces, modems)
Project management skills

Develop logical data model through such tools as ER/Win and ER Studio.
Derive physical database design from logical data model.
Expert knowledge of Transact SQL.
Create databases from physical data models.
Enforce/maintain logical and physical data models as well as associated metadata.
Proficient with Performance Monitor as a tool for troubleshooting and tuning SQL Server.
Excellent understanding of the internals of SQL Server:
system objects (i.e., tables, catalog procedures, system procedures, etc.)
locking, memory utilization, performance coding and design techniques
Create and maintain scheduled batch jobs through ISQL and Internal scheduler.
Make recommendations about standardizing data definitions across applications.
Installation and configuration of Microsoft SQL Server.
Database management and optimization.
Client configuration and connectivity.
Create and enforce database development and administrative standards.
Protect our data assets through security administration and backups.
Management and configuration of database and application security through SQL Server and our mechanisms.
Conceptual understanding of database management systems.
Perseverance in problem solving.
Be able to work in any one of the relational database models presented.
Be able to work in an OLAP, HOLAP or ROLAP Data Warehousing environment.
Report to management any IS down time to ensure that appropriate corrective actions are being taken.
Manage time to allow all assignments to be completed as expected and notify supervisor of potential conflicts due to workload or higher priority.
Submit weekly and monthly reports that show amount of time devoted to tasks and projects.
Exhibit an ability to handle stressful situations, i.e., meeting deadlines and performing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Respond to user requests for assistance in a courteous, timely and efficient manner.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with all staff.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Maintain an acceptable attendance record to ensure that departmental needs are met.



EDUCATION:
