SUMMARY

Sajan’s Global Communication Management System is a global platform enabling a best of class management of the business processes starting from content authoring through content translation. The GCMS platform is deployed as a SOA on top of a Microsoft .NET web services based multi-tier architecture leveraging a Microsoft SQL Server platform. The role of the Senior MS SQL Database Administrator will be to work with the various project teams in designing a database strategy, manage the data warehouse, manage the analysis services cubes, and optimize data retrieval of data by all platforms. Additionally the MS SQL Database Administer will play a critical role in defining a global multi-data center strategy surrounding the centralization and global synchronization of application data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Develop a database architectural strategy and principles to develop scalable and flexible database architecture behind a suite of commercial software products.

·         Establish database architectural direction and often additionally implementation or implementation guidance to teams of software developers.

·         Review existing database for scalability. Make suggestions and provide guidance on database design modifications.

·         Create schema change scripts and ETL scripts for the development team to be executed during software product upgrades.

·         Maintain (Data Warehouse availability and the ETL scripts) that feed the warehouse. Ensure that the data warehouse meets business requirements. Adjust the published data as required.

·         Maintain the data cubes (analysis services) that feed our business intelligence tools. Adjust the published data in the cube based on business demand.

·         Represent Sajan in a professional and positive manner.

·         Participate appropriately in team meetings.

·         Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED

·         Minimum of 5+ years experience as a database administrator to include database optimization, developing/changing database indices, redesigning the database structure and/or reloading data (MS SQL).

·         Strong experience in writing and editing ETL process.

·         Proven experience in authoring and executing business continuity plans surrounding data, backup and recovery.

·         Strong background in designing and feeding data warehouses and requirements for near real time warehousing.

·         Proven experience managing commercial databases that require global access from more than one continent.

·         Manage personal project deadlines; provide communication on the project status.

·         Proven ability to work effectively with software engineers with designing and performance tuning SQL statements. Must have an extremely strong SQL background.

·         Strong analysis skills.
