The Database Administrator shall be Responsible for supporting SQL Server 2005/2008 database servers and ensuring their performance, availability and security.

Responsibilities
Ensure availability and performance of databases that support Line of Business systems across the enterprise. Create and maintain SQL Server maintenance plans (for backup/recovery/optimization) and proactively monitor SQL Servers to ensure secure database services with minimum downtime. Respond quickly and effectively to production SQL Server environment issues and take responsibility for seeing those issues through to resolution. Issues might occur during or after normal business hours.
Plan for and install SQL Server and required Updates, Service Packs, Patches, and Hot Fixes to SQL Server environments. Review existing and new database architectures, security settings and stored procedures to identify potential performance and security risks. Plan and implement strategies to eliminate any such risks that are discovered. Develop Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions, and Data Types in support of Line of Business Applications. Assist Software Development team in producing scripts (DDL) for the creation and update of database objects. Develop database standards and best practices guidelines for SQL Server environment; Advise software development team implementing standards and best practices; Ensure that standards and best practices are enforced.
Develop and maintain documentation describing new and existing SQL Server Environments.
Design and develop Integration Packages using SSIS.

Bachelor’s degree in computer related discipline; or equivalent professional experience
In depth SQL Server 2005/2008 Database Administration experience
Experience writing complex SQL, triggers, and procedures
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with minimal direction, yet also able to work in a team environment
Relational database analysis and modeling experience
Experience configuring database network connectivity
Experience with Transactional and Merge Replication
