JOB DESCRIPTION:
Monitors Data Security & Activity, Monitors & Manages Database Growth & Capacity, Monitors & Tunes Database Performance, Selects & Implements RDB Management tools to simplify the monitoring & support of SQL Server databases across the hospital, Perform database validation and reorganizations as necessary, Participate in Data Conversions, Facilitate the migration of data across multiple databases within an implementation, Assist Director of Info Technology with Data Warehousing Initiative. Design, Implement and test disaster recovery mechanisms and database backup/recovery.
Qualifications:
BS degree in CS or IT or related field with minimum 5 years experience in the field to include systems implementations, upgrades, and maintenance required. Writing stored procedures, functions and triggers in T-SQL and/or other database programming languages.
MS SQL Server RDRBS Admn training and experience preferred.
Certifications:
As a condition of employment, the SQL Server DBA must pass the MCTS Microsoft SQL Server 2005 70-431 exam within 3 months (if not already attained prior to hire). Employee must attain MCITP SQL Server 2005 Certification within two years of acquiring their SQL Server 2005 Certification.
