POSITION PURPOSE -
The Home Depot is currently going through the largest supply chain transformation in history. This transformation includes a complete replacement of Home Depot’s Transportation Systems and processes. The candidate filling this position will facilitate key portions of this transformation, delivering large projects with scope, timelines, and cost targets. The Senior Developer is part technologist, part industrial engineer, part statistician and part technical writer, one who brings their problem solving skills to bear on solving complex business challenges in a rapidly changing environment. This role:
• Partners with application development and business teams to design, build, test, and deploy world class integration components that are integral parts of our supply chain solution
• Engages and partners with business partners, IT project and matrix teams in the design, development and testing of custom applications and complex interfaces.
• Advocates and embraces change; constantly seeks to improve processes and systems in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Works closely with architects to ensure proper system design to meet business requirements, and ensures highest quality implementations from design through QA to production.
• Understands the strategic view of applications and the importance of the supported business processes.
• Promotes an appropriate sense of urgency in regard to deliverables and projects, and effectively partners with / leads the business to develop and deliver supply chain solutions.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
• Partner with Supply Chain IT and business partners to provide complex, multi-generational solutions whose goal is to solve key Supply Chain business challenges, increase productivity, visibility and customer satisfaction.
• Work day-to-day with the project team, business partners and matrix IT resources to design, construct and test Supply Chain solutions which meet the needs of the business in a timely and efficient manner. This effort will be a mix of hands-on development and driving the development efforts of a team of development resources.
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure compliance/adherence to Home Depot standards.
• Work seamlessly on a project team in a fast-paced, agile development environment managing multiple deliverables, ensuring both a timely and high quality delivery.

Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

• Solid understanding of supply chain business processes, principles, and value propositions
