Erickson Retirement Communities develops and manages continuing care retirement communities that provide unparalleled opportunities and unmatched value for middle-income people over age 62. The Erickson network currently comprises 20 campuses in twelve states, along with the Retirement Living TV network and the NorthBay Adventure Camp. The company is rapidly growing to achieve our goal of serving even more seniors nationwide. Responsibilities
1. Design and support VoIP infrastructure and its associated software, including IP-PBXs, call management systems, and voice mail.
2. Select, deploy, and utilize appropriate tools for reporting and routing of IP telephony traffic on the network.
3. Collaborate with help desk to resolve trouble tickets and mitigate end-user issues with VoIP hardware and/or applications.
4. Manage remote site communication for WAN configuration utilizing T1 or faster links.
2. Maintain security for all network locations.
3. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
4. Collaborate with executive management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs.
5. Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
6. Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
7. Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
8. Responsible for troubleshooting and documentation of network upgrades and problems/solutions.
9. Responsible for examining network technologies and keeping informed of upgrades and changes.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
1. University degree in computer science or electrical engineering and/or 5 years equivalent work experience desired.
2. Industry certifications such as CCNA and/or CCNP desired.
3. Proven experience and success with Cisco Voice, LAN, WAN, and WLAN support, design, and implementation.
4. Strong hands-on knowledge of SIP, H.323, TCP/IP and strong understanding of VoIP QoS issues and mitigation strategies.
5. Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
