SR. PROJECT LEAD - SCIENTIFIC TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT

Successful Candidate will conduct systematic analyses of complex technical fields as well as make determinations / recommendations on actions relative to specific new technologies and/or emerging scientific fields. Responsibilities will also include the development of work products supporting (a) the establishment of criteria to be used to assess technologies and (b) analysis of technologies relative to such criteria relative to utility for a particular business segment and/or strategic business objective. Individual will work in a multidisciplinary technical team with scientists having complementary technical experience, and will also interface with other functional areas including marketing, business development, IP management, legal and R&D. Interactions outside of the company include those with University Researchers, Tech Transfer Offices and Biotechnology companies. Position reports to the Director of New Technology Assessment.

Chicago metropolitan area (Lake County) is the preferred location but will consider a California location for this position (either Bay Area or San Diego).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade commensurate with experience. Ph.D. in the physical sciences (e.g. physics, biophysics, physical chemistry or analytical chemistry) with minimum of 5 years post Ph.D. experience. Ideally candidate should have post degree experience in IP or technology management (e.g. tech transfer office or other relevant industrial experience). Good organizational & writing skills, as well as a sense of urgency and an ability to work in a team environment.
