The Sr. Sales Engineer is the lead technical sales resource and advocate for Verizons products and applications with a strong strategic partnership/consultative client orientation. Primary responsibility is to work closely with Sales to protect and grow revenue through strategic sales/account planning. The Sr. Sales Engineer will be recognized as the technical implementation leader of highly complex designs involving multiple services. In this presales-oriented role the Sr. Sales Engineer will be called upon to provide consulting/guidance using his/her extensive knowledge in the area of routing (RIP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and routable (TCP/IP, IPX) protocols. Extensive firewall knowledge will also be required. Candidates must possess extensive practical and theoretical experience in data and voice technologies, to include: MPLS, PIP, IP-VPN, VOIP, IP-Telephony, Ethernet-based services, Broadband technologies, Frame Relay, ATM and other related services. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work in a team environment with all Sales related staff. You must have a strong technical background with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. As the Technical Team Lead you will explain complex technology solutions to your customers on sales calls. The successful candidate will support a staff of Verizon Sales professionals by providing customer needs analysis, engineering and design of technical solutions, pricing, proposal assistance, technical presentations, and technical consultation to internal and external customers. The ideal Candidate will have a proven record of success in selling Telephony and or IP technology products & services to Government Accounts. You must be able to travel within assigned sales territory or outside sales territory as may be required.

Requirements
Qualified candidates must have 10+ years of customer facing experience in the telecommunications industry. Technical writing and Presentation skills Bachelors Degree (technical) or equivalent experience. Computer Science or Engineering preferred. Candidate should hold industry related certifications from Cisco Systems, Inc. (CCDA, CCNP, CIPT, CISSP, CCIE). Previous Sales Engineering or Technical Sales Consultant experience is required. Cisco Systems, Inc. CCIE (Routing & Switching) Highly Desirable. ITIL Foundations Certification Experience with one of the following firewall manufacturers: Cisco Systems, Inc. or Juniper Networks. Managed Services Experience Other industry certifications are a plus.
