Responsibilities:
* Responsible for preparing and executing new product requests for quote. Analyze competitive bids and negotiate favorable terms utilizing cost model and material trend indices.
* Manage supplier base and/or customer accounts for assigned product category to provide sourcing support for the entire organization.
* Implement standard pricing practice with assigned suppliers, participating in pricing and contract negotiations under management guidance.
* Achieve year over year cost containment and cost optimization among the assigned product categories and supplier base, achieving favorable purchase price variance for the business.
* Conduct resourcing and market competitiveness analysis, implementing risk mitigation and supply continuity plan under defined sourcing strategy.
* Support other team members, such as Buyer/Planner, Quality, Engineering, and Operations to achieve improvements and compliance as required for assigned suppliers.
* Execute standardization of Sourcing process and strategy under leadership guidance.
Requirements:
*Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in business, supply chain management, or engineering.
*5 – 7 years sourcing and purchasing experience.
* 3 – 5 years international sourcing and purchasing experience, preferably in Pacific Rim.
*Previous sourcing or purchasing experience in Fastener industry is highly preffered.
* Previous technical/engineering background a plus.
* Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency at MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Power Point.
* Proven ability to work independently and take initiative.
* Previous project management and product development knowledge preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*Proven ability to work closely in team environment.
