Primary Objective

Senior Java/J2EE Software Developer needed to develop financial enterprise software solutions. Positions in this function are predominantly involved in developing business solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications. In addition, you will act in a lead role to mentor junior developers.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

• Sound knowledge of Java, J2EE, Struts, JDBC, JSP, relational databases, SQL, XML, Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB), Web Technologies (HTML, JavaScript, XML, XSL, HTTP) is required.
• Understand supported applications and all interdependencies (OS, network, server, workstations, etc).
• Expertise in SDLC development and strategic alignment of IT solutions with business objectives.
• Desire and ability to manage software delivery including planning, delegating, tracking delivery tasks, estimating work effort, coordinating with all resources.
• Must know SQL language and stored procedures in relational database.
• Excellent customer/user interaction skills are necessary.

Experience Required

• 3+ years of experience in full SDLC projects utilizing J2EE architectures and Java development.
• Experience in web services design and implementation experience.
• Previous experience with WebSphere, Jboss or Tomcat Application Server is required.
• Experience in a high-availability and mission-critical environment.

Education Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value.
• Leading development team to achieve key business objectives.
• Leading large, complex and multiple projects to achieve key business objectives.
• Collaborating with the team on application architecture design and decision-making.
• Developing innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business.
• Providing alternate design solutions along with project estimates.
• Designing and implementing application enhancements in collaboration with different teams.
• Troubleshooting production support issues post release deployment and come up with solutions. Ability to solve complex production issues.
• Will be expected to function as a mentor for junior developers, providing assistance where needed.
• Will be expected to handle smaller projects completely on their own, including interactions with other teams and 3rd parties for design and architecture.
• Other duties as assigned.
