Responsibilities:
Researches, prepares, gathers, and maintains information for federal and state income tax returns. Assists in identifying, researching, and resolving tax compliance and planning issues. Corresponds with federal and state taxing authorities regarding tax notices received. Assists in the preparation of the quarterly and annual income tax provision. Provides assistance with respect to Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and testing in the income tax accounting area. Skills Required: Software Expertise: MS Office Effective oral and written communication skills Strong organizational skills Critical thinking and analytical skills Strong problem solving skills Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Handle sensitive and confidential assignments with tact and diplomacy Demonstrate integrity within a professional environment
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or business administration w/ a concentration in accounting)
Preferred: C.P.A. and Masters of Tax
Experience:
Required: 2-3 years of tax experience in a public accounting and / or corporate environment
This position is based in Birmingham, AL. No relocation assistance is provided.
