Currently we are seeking Systems Engineer, IA Projects to work in our ISS Division 

( http://www.scires.com/divisions/iss.htm ) in beautiful, historic Charleston, SC. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Information Assurance (IA) of systems accredited to process national security information.
  • Support customer in obtaining and maintaining security certification and accreditation (C&A) of systems, networks, or sites.
  • Assist customer through the DCID 6/3, DIACAP or customer prescribed accreditation process to include, but not limited to, determination of security requirements, analysis of protective features, determination of residual risk, development of security test procedures and participation in security testing.
  • Responsible for keeping customer fully informed concerning information security problems and deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Act as liaison with customer representatives in all information security matters.
  • Conduct objective evaluations and audits of the security policy implementation, to include: Review controls over data integrity, Identify risks, Evaluate safeguards, Ascertain compliance with security policies, Evaluate efficiency and cost effectiveness of protective measures, Recommend corrective actions.
  • Duties will also include any responsibilties described in Secion 8-1-04 of DoD 5220.22-M (NISPOM).
  • Define, design, and develop system requirements
  • Generate test plans, assist in testing activities, and create test reports.
  • Work with vendors/subcontractors in order to coordinate and consolidate design efforts.
  • Assess architecture and current hardware limitations. 
  • Defines and designs complex system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • Additional duties may include installation of software and hardware, patch management, troubleshooting operational or design/development problems (computer hardware and software), user management, user indoctrination/training, compliance testing, clearing / sanitizing memory / media, researching computer sytems / peripheral specifications, preparing security documentation, vulnerability testing / assessment, maintenance of area access control lists and signage, inspection of secure areas, update of anti-virus software, backup of data and configuration settings, system maintenance, research / use of audit reduction and other security tools, development/improvement of documented security processes / procedures and helping to maintain up-to-date content of the company's internal web pages for information systems security.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in CIS, EE, CS or MIS, MS Preferred
  • Minimum 10 years experience supporting and maintaining security certification and accreditation of DoD systems that process sensitive intelligence information.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and mitigate risk through planning and process.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of latest security policies, procedures, vendor patches and federal regulations.
  • CISSP or other industry certification desired.
  • Demonstrated experience managing subordinates and providing accountability for their performance.
