DIRECTV Home Services is looking for a Safety Director who will effectively assist in placing safety top-of-mind among our employees, and build upon our momentum to ensure safety is an active part of our company culture. 
 
The Safety Director is responsible for providing company-wide leadership on safety strategy, policies, processes and practices across DIRECTV Home Services in support of our vision of zero work related injuries and illnesses among our workforce. In addition, the Safety Director is also responsible for ensuring that leading edge best practices are incorporated into the company's safety plan.
 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
 
  • Responsible for leading efforts to proactively address safety in DIRECTV Home Services by significantly improving overall safety performance, including decreasing work related injuries and illnesses, lost time injury rates, fatalities, and related safety issues.

  • Provide leadership on safety, corporate governance, due diligence, regulatory compliance, training, and technical services to operating units.

  • Collaborate with company and site leaders in the development of a vision and strategic direction for safety improvements and productivity initiatives in support of business plans.

  • Develop, implement, and manage a company-wide safety program and complementary safety initiative. In addition, will be required to measure the effectiveness of such programs. 

  • Help ensure field professionals are among the industry's most safety-minded workforces in the telecommunications industry.

  • Provide training and development including setting goals, measuring results and driving continuous improvement across all parts of the business.

  • Other duties as assigned.










  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required.

  • Minimum of 10 years safety and operations experience, including developing and implementing both proactive and reactive strategies and plans in collaboration with company goals and objectives.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and deliver clear company-wide safety-oriented objectives and to develop, implement, and monitor safety programs.

  • Proven ability to provide guidance to field management by helping them to develop and maintain a local program consistent with company goals and initiatives.

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and prioritization.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA Rules & Regulations as they apply to the industry.
