Responsibilities



  • The Safety Engineer  promotes safe work ethics, practices and working conditions in accordance with all company, Federal, State and Local rules and regulations at our  offices, laboratories and at all field work sites
  • Administers to the administrative, equipment and training safety needs of all Project Staff, including Engineers, Technicians, Architects, and Scientists
  • Researches and implements safety solutions for a wide array of hazards associated with forensic investigations, condition assessments, engineering and construction-related activities under a wide range of conditions
  • Performs a lead role in promoting  Safety awareness throughout the company, utilizing verbal, print, and media communications
  • The Safety Engineer reports to the Manager of Safety

Qualifications


§  Bachelors or masters degree in Safety or engineering degree with equivalent years of construction safety experience


§  Background experience in construction work and/or civil, architectural or structural engineering


§  Current knowledge of OSHA standards, 29 CFR 1910 & 29 CFR 1926


§  Willingness to travel when necessary


§  Experience in troubleshooting and resolving uncommon safety issues


§  Previous  accident investigation experience


§  5 years minimum work experience in the field of Safety


§  High degree of professionalism, diplomacy, integrity, and flexibility


§  Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills


§  Certified Safety Professional (CSP) accreditation a plus
